Basic Dance Movements

Flamenco dancing is said to be one of the most difficult dance forms to master and even to reach a level when one is able to perform. It takes years of hard work, practice and dedication in being able to coordinate complex footwork, arms, hands in addition to props such as the bata de cola (long train dress), fans, castanets and shawls. Not only are these movements challenging, it is also one of the few dance forms that is so intrinscially linked with the music (both guitar and cante) so you have to also understand these two and be able to respond and improvize to them.

Keeping in mind flamenco is best learned from qualified instructors, soon I will update here with a quick break down of the dance form that may help you start your journey of learning.
